More About Premises Liability
Common Dangers
When you enter property business establishments or other premises, you have a reasonable expectation that the property owner will protect your safety by keeping the property free from hazards. Unfortunately, not every property owner takes that responsibility seriously. Some common causes of injury include:
- Wet, uneven floors
- Poor or nonexistent signage warning of hazards
- Floors that have been waxed or polished unevenly
- Rugs or mats with curled corners
- Uneven or broken stairs
- Missing or broken handrails
- Escalators or elevators that aren’t properly maintained
Injuries caused by these conditions can leave victims with broken bones, back injuries, brain trauma and perhaps permanent disabilities — as well as ongoing medical bills.
