Attorney Selection
Skill
Most law firms offer their clients litigation experience, but CPAS also has a track record of successful trial experience, including County, State, and Federal Court cases, as well as experience in the Appellate Courts and The Supreme Court of Ohio. Trial experience gives us significant leverage during the early stages of a truck accident injury case, and it assures you that we have the ability to see your case through to the end.
Commitment
The attorneys of CPAS count among them three members named in the Best Lawyers in America, three members certified by the prestigious National Board of Trial Advocacy, two members named to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), two past presidents of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, three past presidents of the Franklin County Trial Lawyers Association, and two members of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Truck Accident Litigation Experience
At Clark, Perdue, Arnold & Scott, our trucking accident lawyers have extensive experience representing victims in a wide variety of truck accidents including:
- Terry, a former model, suffered substantial facial scarring in a truck/trailer crash. The trailer became disconnected from the truck, and the truck driver left the trailer in the middle of the road on a foggy evening in eastern Ohio. The jury found in Terry's favor, and some of the money awarded has been used for surgery to repair the scars.
- A semi-truck hauling German automobiles went out of control on an Interstate highway in Columbus, Ohio. The truck crossed over a concrete divider into the path of a mini-van traveling in the opposite direction. A crash occurred. A mother and her two children in the mini-van were killed. A four year old girl in the mini-van had a brain injury and permanent loss of use of one arm. The trucking company denied fault. Furthermore, the trucking company claimed that the driver of the mini-van should have avoided the crash. Although the trucking company had a substantial insurance policy, it was not enough. Therefore, after extensive litigation, we were able to obtain a settlement that included liability insurance plus money paid directly by the trucking company.
- Paul and Martha were traveling near their home when a semi-truck and trailer pulled from a stop sign into their path. The truck driver claimed that Paul was partly to blame for failing to see the truck and stop in time to avoid the crash.
The evidence did not support the truck driver’s claim, and we successfully negotiated a settlement with the trucking company while the case was in litigation.
