   Improper Truck MaintenanceA commercial truck is not safe unless it is in proper working order. Federal regulations require trucking companies to “systematically inspect, repair, and maintain” all motor vehicles subject to its control. Trucking companies must retain all truck parts and accessories in a “safe and proper operating condition at all times.” In that regard, drivers must complete a written vehicle inspection report at the end of each shift.
