Product Liability Attorneys
Manufacturers
are required to make their products safe. When the public buys cars,
appliances, and toys for their children, or other products, they assume the
products will be safe. When patients take a drug prescribed by a doctor or
purchased over the counter, they assume the medication is safe. When employees
use machinery in the workplace, they assume the equipment is safe to operate.
Unfortunately,
that is not always the case.
Countless
products injure thousands of people each year. Clark Perdue represents many victims in
defective product lawsuits. Currently, we are investigating claims that involve
side effects of numerous
drugs.
Questions You Should Ask An
Attorney
What to Do Following an Injury
Caused By a Defective Product
The attorneys
of Clark Perdue are tireless advocates for the innocent victims of defective products.
We passionately believe that when manufacturers violate their duty to provide
safe products to consumers, the victims must be fairly compensated. Also,
responsible product liability suits can result in safer products, and this
benefits everyone.
We have
handled countless cases for victims of unsafe products, including:
- The Oglesby children (ages 1 and 3) died in an
apartment fire. We investigated the fire and filed a lawsuit against several
corporations, including the company that manufactured the baseboard
heaters in the apartment. The lawsuit against this manufacturer resulted
in a substantial settlement for the surviving family members.
- A twenty-eight year old man's pick-up truck was
making an unusual noise. He opened the hood with the engine running
to see if he could identify the problem. While he was looking at the
engine, the fan blade broke apart and severed his right ear.
Miraculously, the blade did not penetrate his skull, but his ear was cut
off. We determined that there was a manufacturing problem that
caused the metal of the fan blade to fatigue and break. This had
happened before on other trucks. We sued the manufacturer of the
pick-up truck and obtained a favorable settlement for this young man.
Challenging Cases
Product liability
is a particularly challenging area of the law. These cases require imagination,
perseverance and substantial resources. At Clark Perdue,
we are committed to building a safer society through the creative and
responsible litigation of product liability claims.
Cases involving defective products are frequently a battle of experts. Securing
the assistance and testimony of qualified experts can be one of the most
important, difficult and expensive tasks in preparing and presenting a product
defect case. When considering an attorney for a product defect case, it is
important to question whether that attorney has ready access to the best
experts in the field. Also, it is important to question whether the attorney is
willing to advance reasonable expenses for an investigation of your case. For a

Damages
Victims of defective products may be entitled
to recover damages for: hospital and medical expenses; past and future lost
earnings; past and future permanent physical disability, such as a limp, scars,
loss of a limb; emotional distress, such as depression and anxiety; grief and
emotional suffering caused by the death of a loved one; loss of love and
