What is Digitek®?

Digitek is a generic digoxin tablet. It is used to treat heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms. Digoxin works by increasing the force and velocity of the myocardial systolic action and slowing the heart rate. Generally, it helps the heart sustain a stronger and more regular beat.

Who is the manufacturer?

Digitek is the trade name for digoxin tablets manufactured in the US by Actavis Totowa, LLC. The tablets are distributed in the US by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, based in Morgantown, West Virginia, and by UDL Laboratories, based in Rockford, Illinois. Both Mylan Pharmaceuticals and UDL are owned by parent company Mylan, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based company with a market cap of $4 billion.

The tablets are distributed by Mylan under a "Bertek" label and by UDL under a "UDL" label.

What are the injuries caused by this drug?

The existence of double strength tablets poses a risk of digitalis toxicity. Digitalis toxicity can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, low blood pressure, cardiac instability and bradycardia (low heart beat), and death.

Do I have a case?

If you or a loved one has experienced one or more of the symptoms listed above, you may have a case.

Where are cases being filed?

Viable cases are being filed in West Virginia state court because Mylan Pharmaceuticals is based in Morgantown, West Virginia.
