Ohio Tarceva® Lawyers

On May 8, 2009, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued new warnings to doctors and other health care professionals who prescribe Tarceva®, a cancer treatment drug manufactured by Genentech. Worldwide, 350,000 people have been treated with the drug. Sales of Tarceva® exceeded $1 billion in 2008.

The warnings include:

  • Gastrointestinal perforations (some fatal);
  • Skin blistering and exfoliative skin conditions, which in some cases were suggestive of Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis (also known as Lyell's syndrome which can be fatal);
  • Eye damage, including corneal perforation or ulceration, keratoconjunctivitis sicca (eye dryness), and keratitis (cornea inflammation).

If you or someone you know has suffered serious side effects such as gastrointestinal perforations, corneal damage, or a serious skin condition similar to Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis resulting from the use of Tarceva®, call or e-mail the Ohio Tarceva® attorneys at Clark, Perdue & List today.

Read the FDA alert and the "Dear Healthcare Professional Letter" describing the additional risks.
